Police identify decomposed body as man missing since 2014

The remains of a body found on New Year's Day in Prince George County have been identified as belonging to a 70-year-old man who was reported missing in 2014.

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- The remains of a body found on New Year's Day in Prince George County have been identified as belonging to a 70-year-old man who was reported missing in 2014.

The remains, found in the 4100 block of Puddeldock Road on January 1, 2020, were identified as Harry Womack of Prince George County.

The 70-year-old was reported missing on June 14, 2014, by a relative who had last seen him four days prior. The Prince George Police Department had conducted an extensive search of the area as well as various locations Mr. Womack frequented.
