SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- Investigators identified two brothers killed July 4 in what was being investigated as a road rage shooting.

Fred Swick, 39, and Joe Swick, 38, were killed Saturday night in Spotsylvania County.

Danny Lee Huffman, 48, of Spotsylvania, was later arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and felony child endangerment, according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office. Additional charges were expected to be filed in this case.

Huffman's 17-year-old son was in the vehicle with him during the incident, according to investigators.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 10:15 p.m. Saturday about a shooting in the area of Fox Run Drive, according to Capt. Elizabeth Scott with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, they found the Swick brothers dead in their vehicle.

Huffman, according to investigators, was the person who called 911 and reported an "altercation" with the brothers.

"The investigation is still on-going, but appears to be related to a road rage incident that occurred," Scott said. "The subjects did not know each other and had no prior history according to the initial investigation."

Divers located the weapon used in the crime in a pond on Huffman's property, according to Scott.

Huffman was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office at 540-582-7115 or 800-928-5822.
