SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- A man has been arrested after the bodies of two brothers were found in their car following an apparent road rage incident in Spotsylvania County on the Fourth of July.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 10:15 p.m. Saturday about a shooting in the area of Fox Run Drive, according to Capt. Elizabeth Scott with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of the brothers, 38 and 39 years old, in their vehicle in the middle of the road, Scott said.

Officials said 48 year-old Danny Lee Huffman of Spotsylvania called 911 alleging he was cut on his arm during an "altercation" with the brothers.

"The investigation is still on-going but appears to be related to a road rage incident that occurred," Scott said. "The subjects did not know each other and had no prior history according to the initial investigation."

Scott said the suspect did have a cut on his arm, which was treated by rescue crews.

Huffman was charged with two counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and felony child endangerment, but Scott said those charges will likely be upgraded this week.

Divers located the weapon used in the crime in a pond on Huffman's property, according to Scott.

Deputies said Huffman's 17-year-old son was in the vehicle with him during the incident.

Huffman is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Scott said the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

Officials said their investigation into the case is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office at 540-582-7115 or 800-928-5822.
