HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Being a firefighter isn’t all about running into burning buildings and climbing tall ladders. Henrico firefighter Jake White spent his Tuesday morning rescuing a kitten trapped under a woman’s car. The woman pulled into the Glenwood Farms Firehouse at about 9:30 a.m. looking for help.

“A small kitten had become stuck in the wheel well of her car,” Henrico Fire spokesman Capt. Danny Rosenbaum said. “The firefighters went out to the parking lot to see if they could assist. After getting the assistance of Technical Rescue Team at a neighboring station, they were able to remove the wheel and parts of the cars suspension to remove the kitten.”

The kitten was not hurt during the wheel well rescue. It is now being cared for by Henrico Animal Protection.
