The home, recently assessed at nearly $1 million, is located in Henrico's West End near  South Moorelane and River Roads.

Henrico Fire Capt. Danny Rosenbaum said an inspector would determine the exact cause of the fallen tree, but added it was likely wet ground and storm conditions contributed to the situation.

Family members who arrived at the home gathered three of five cats that were inside the home when the tree fell. Two cats remain missing.
