HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - A large tree crashed into a home in western Henrico during Thursday morning storms. The home was empty as the family that lives there is out of town.
A neighbor who heard the tree crash into the home and called for help.
The home, recently assessed at nearly $1 million, is located in Henrico's West End near South Moorelane and River Roads.
Henrico Fire Capt. Danny Rosenbaum said an inspector would determine the exact cause of the fallen tree, but added it was likely wet ground and storm conditions contributed to the situation.
Family members who arrived at the home gathered three of five cats that were inside the home when the tree fell. Two cats remain missing.
