RICHMOND, Va. -- Today will be mostly sunny and continued cool, with highs in the upper 40s. Mostly sunny and seasonably cool weather is expected tomorrow as well, with high pressure remaining in place over the region.

An upper-level disturbance will move south of Virginia on Friday, bringing southern sections of the Commonwealth a chance for light accumulations of snow. Higher snow totals will be likely just south of the state line. Cool and dry weather will resume this weekend, with highs remaining in the 40s.

Another storm system will take a more favorable track for snow as it heads into the region on Tuesday. This system is still a week away, but it has the potential for bringing accumulating snow to central Virginia.

A third storm system could also result in wintry weather for the area late next week, but reliability that far into the future is very low. It continues to look as though most days over the next two weeks will be cooler than normal.
