Tracking scattered showers will stick around

Scattered showers will be around tonight, especially after midnight.

RICHMOND, Va. -- A cold front and an area of low pressure will pass through the area today. This will increase the clouds and cause some scattered showers. Wind gusts will be over 20 mph with higher gusts near the coast. Highs will range from the 40s in eastern Virginia to the mid and upper 50s across central Virginia.

Scattered showers will be around tonight, especially after midnight. These showers will exit eastern Virginia Saturday morning. It may be cold enough for some flakes or a snow shower, but no accumulation will occur. Lows will be in the mid 30s.

We will see rapid clearing Saturday morning, leading to a sunny day. Highs will range from the upper 40s to the mid 50s. It will be cold Saturday night with lows in the 20s.

Sunday will be sunny and warmer with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Highs will be near 70 Monday and Tuesday, with 60s for the remainder of the week. A few showers will be possible on Tuesday, with low rain chances Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances will increase for Friday.
