RICHMOND, Va. - A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 PM Thursday for much of the Virginia Piedmont and Tidewater, including the Richmond area. Several inches of rain will be possible in the watch area, and flash flooding will be possible. Expect occasional rain to continue tonight, with periods of heavy rain at times. Rain will continue to be likely during the day Thursday.

An unsettled pattern will continue Friday through Sunday, with a chance of rain each day. A seasonally strong cold front is still slated for early next week, which should bring us a couple of dry days of cool night and mild afternoons.

Tropical Storms Paulette and Rene will continue over the open waters of the Atlantic the next several days, but Paulette could threaten Bermuda early next week. Another strong wave emerging off the west Africa coast has a good chance of becoming Sally in the next few days.
