SHORT PUMP, Va. -- A tractor-trailer driver died in a Thursday crash on Interstate 295, at Exit 53B near Interstate 64, in Short Pump.
"A tractor trailer, carrying a load of lunch meat, ran off the left side of the road and struck several trees," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said. "The driver died at the scene. The trailer was damaged and the load was spilled."
The driver's name has not yet been released.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
