Search continues for Chesterfield man mistakenly released from jail

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- Deputies are searching for a Chesterfield man mistakenly released from Riverside Regional Jail overnight.

Juan Pelaez-Marroquin, 20, had been incarcerated awaiting sentencing after his conviction on forcible sodomy charges.

"Riverside Regional Jail authorities reported that an inmate was mistakenly released when he provided false information to their staff," according to a news release from Prince George County Police. "A search of the immediate area for Juan Pelaez-Marroquin met with negative results. "

Pelaez-Marroquin was described as a 5’09” 180-pound man with brown eyes and brown hair.
