Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. -- A pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Petersburg.

Officers responded to 320 W. Wythe St for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Once on scene, officers discovered a man laying in the roadway. He was then transported to VCU Medical center with life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and has cooperated fully with the investigation, which remains under investigation.
