Henrico officer charged with felony abduction, credit card theft, and domestic assault

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Henrico Police Officer Robert Luke Swift, of Toano, was arrested and charged with felony abduction, felony credit card theft, and domestic assault following an incident in James City County, according to investigators in that county.

Swift's alleged victim reported the incidents on June 2.

Swift was arrested the same day and booked at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail in Williamsburg.

“Our sworn personnel are held to a higher caliber, and we recognize the severity of the allegations," Henrico Police Chief Eric English said. "We will monitor this case through our justice system to conclusion.”
