HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Dozens of family members and friends gathered at a West End park Sunday evening to remember a Richmond father killed in a shooting in Henrico County's West End.

Daequon Glover, who recently turned 24-years old, was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in a neighborhood off Hungary Springs Road.

Organizers of the candlelight vigil said Glover's family is devastated by the loss.

"My father taught him how to do body work when he was small,” Glover's father said. “Now, my father has his angel with him now."

Glover's sister told the crowd her brother would want them to move closer together.

"He wouldn't want nobody crying or trying to get revenge or nothing,” Glover's sister said. “He would want y'all staying together and trying to figure out how to move forward."

Glover's family said he leaves behind a young child.

Detectives charged 26-year old Elijah U. Samuels, of Henrico, with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission felony.
