CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police arrested a 20-year-old man accused of robbing a customer at a Chesterfield ATM.
"[A man] displayed a firearm and demanded the adult victim withdraw money from the ATM. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area in a vehicle," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said about the February 13 crime. "A short time later, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and suspect."
Matthew T. Bates was arrested and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The robbery was reported at the Wells Fargo outdoor ATM on Hopkins Road.
