JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. -- A truck driver suffered serious injuries when his tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 64 east, near mile marker 234, in James City County, according to Virginia State Police.
"Investigations reveal that the driver entered the work zone, ran off the road right, and struck several concrete barriers," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said. "The driver over-corrected and ran off the road left, struck the guardrail, and overturned in the median."
Charges against the driver were pending the outcome of the investigation.
The crash was reported at about 7:11 a.m. Monday and impacted travel along Interstate 64 east.
The truck was hauling bread and dairy products.
