45-year-old man pulled from James River dies

RICHMOND, Va. -- A 45-year-old man pulled from the James River Tuesday afternoon has died.

Fire crews were called to the 7300 block of Riverside Drive at Pony Pasture at 5:19 p.m. for a report of a male in distress on the James River.

When crews arrived on the scene, a man had been brought to shore by boaters.

Officials say unconscious man was administered CPR and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Joshua B. Jennings, 45.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
