I-95 lanes reopens following fatal crash

HENRICO/HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- A fatal crash involving two tractor trailers closed lanes on Interstate 95 south at Atlee Elmont (Exit 86) and sent others to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

"Virginia State Police responded to a multiple vehicle crash with one confirmed fatality at southbound I-95 at the 86 mile marker," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said. "The investigation is in its preliminary stages."

Virginia State Police Spokersperson, Keeli Hill, said that crash involved five vehicles. The crash was first reported on February 12, 2019, at about 5:47 a.m.

All lanes reopened at about 9 a.m.
