Fredericksburg woman killed when car left road, hit trees

KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — Myleka Murphy, 26, of Fredericksburg, was killed when her car ran off Ridge Road in King George County and struck two trees early Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police reported. Speed and alcohol were considered factors in the crash, investigators said.

“A 2006 Infiniti was travelling west on Route 205 (Ridge Road) when it ran off the road right, over corrected then ran off the road to the left and struck two trees,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. “The driver (sole occupant) of the 2006 Infiniti, Myleka M. Murphy, 26 of Fredericksburg, Va., died at the scene; she was wearing a seatbelt.”

The crash happened at about 4 a.m., police said.
