HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — A two-vehicle crash closed lanes and knocked out the traffic light along Route 1 south near Sliding Hill Road in Hanover Tuesday morning. The crash left a red minivan off the road and into a wooded area.
The other vehicle, a four-door car, suffered damage to both its front and back.
“Drivers are encouraged to use caution and follow law enforcement conducting traffic control or proceed through the intersection as if a four-way stop,” a Virginia Department of Transportation spokesperson said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Sheriff’s deputies have not yet commented on the extent of injuries suffered by either driver.
