HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A man wearing a surgical mask and carrying a silver gun robbed two Staples Mill Road businesses in one hour early Thursday evening, according to Henrico Police. The first robbery happened at about 5:36 p.m. in the 9000 block of Staples Mill Road, near Hungary Springs Road. The second, less than an hour later, in the 7300 block of Staples Mill Road, near Glenside Drive.
In both robberies, the man flashed a gun at employees and demanded money. No one was hurt in either robbery.
Police described the suspect as a bald, 50 to 63-year-old black man who stands 5’9” to 6’0” and weighs between 200 to 250 pounds.
"The suspect was wearing a white shirt and a blue surgical mask covering his face," Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said. "Based upon the suspect description provided by the victims, Henrico detectives have linked these incidents to the commercial robbery which occurred in the 6000 block of West Broad Street on September 16, 2015."
In that crime, police said the man walked into a businesses at around 2 p.m. and robbed the place. Anyone with information about the crimes was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
