Bodies of man, woman found in burning car at Richmond community center

RICHMOND, Va. -- The bodies of a man and woman were found inside a burning car parked outside the Hickory Hill Community Center on Terminal Avenue in South Richmond Wednesday night. The bodies were taken to the medical examiner's office so investigators can learn who the victims were and how they died.

Officials were called to the 3000 block of Terminal Avenue just after 10:45 p.m. for a report of a burning car.

When crews arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, officials said they discovered the bodies. Police would not elaborate on where inside the car the bodies were discovered.

There has been word on how the victims died or how the fire started.

The fire marshal and homicide detectives were on the scene as of 12:15 a.m.
