Chesterfield teen, Richmond man charged with conspiracy to commit murder

RICHMOND, Va. -- Two men were arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting near Midlothian Turnpike. Regshawn L. Ward, 19, of Laurelwood Road in Chesterfield, and Brandon R. Townsend, 20, of Cosmic Road in Richmond, were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder in connection to June 11 shooting on West Roanoke Street.

At 1:48 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, officers responded to the 200 block of West Roanoke Street for a report of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived they found Diego S. Brown, 35, of the 3300 block of Meadowdale Boulevard, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced at the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information about the shooting. Tipsters are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
