Employee says man with gun robbed 7-Eleven on VCU campus

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are investigating a robbery on the VCU campus.

An employee at the 7-Eleven at 221 West Main Street, between Madison and Jefferson Streets, said a man wearing a mask and carrying a gun robbed the convenience store Wednesday morning.

"An employee reported a black male entered the store, displayed a handgun and robbed the store," Richmond Police spokesman James Mercante said. "The suspect was 5 feet to 5 foot four inches tall and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt."

VCU 7-Eleven Robbery

The crime happened at around 7:06 a.m., according to a crime alert sent by the university.

There were no reports of any injuries.
