RICHMOND, Va. -- It will be warm and muggy overnight, with partly cloudy skies and lows ranging from the upper 60s to the mid 70s.

Heat and humidity will increase Sunday into Monday. A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of central Virginia from noon until 9 P.M. Sunday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s and the heat index will easily break 100°, with many areas exceeding 105°. Lows Sunday night will be in the mid to upper 70s. There is the possibility we may see a few very isolated storms pop up in the afternoon.

Highs Monday will be in the upper 90s to around 100°. The heat index could approach 110° in many locations. A few widely scattered storms may once again pop up in the afternoon and evening.

High temperatures will lower very slightly during the week, but will still be in the low to mid 90s. There will be the threat for some scattered storms each afternoon and evening. There are signs somewhat drier air will move into the region by next weekend.
