Tracking snow potential on Sunday

and last updated

RICHMOND, Va. -- We’ll have full sunshine today, but it will remain chilly, with highs only reaching the upper 30s and low 40s. tonight into tomorrow morning will be clear and very cold, with lows again falling into the teens and low 20s. Expect mostly sunny and cold weather Saturday, with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s.

A storm system will move into the region Sunday morning, bringing a period of snow to central Virginia. This system could wrap rain into the area at times as low pressure moves slowly up the coast. Some snow accumulation is likely at this point, but deterministic model snowfall projections should be taken with a grain of salt. Seasonally cool and quiet weather is expected in the wake of this system during the middle of next week.
