RICHMOND, Va. -- Early clouds today will give way to sunshine and another day with high temperatures in the 50s.

Friday will be a partly cloudy and comfortably cool day, with highs in the mid 50s. Clouds will thicken by afternoon as a storm system approaches the area. Scattered light rain showers are expected Friday evening into Saturday morning as a strong cold front moves through Virginia. A few lingering sprinkles, possibly mixed with wet snowflakes will be possible on Saturday.

Sunday will be dry and continued cool. Another upper-level disturbance will move through the area on Monday, bringing a few more sprinkles or flurries to the region.

The medium range pattern continues to suggest the possibility of wintry weather next Wednesday and Thursday, but confidence in that potential remains low at this time.
