RICHMOND, Va. -- A chilly morning with temperatures in the 40s to low 50s and clear skies. High pressure takes control today and Thursday bringing beautiful sunshine to Central Va. Wednesday will have highs in the mid 70s and on Thursday highs approaching 80 degrees in some areas.
A powerful storm system will move through the area Friday, bringing a round of heavy rain followed by much cooler air. The rain will end very early Saturday morning, with cool sunshine for the rest of the day. Expect partly cloudy and mild conditions on Sunday. Lows will be in the upper 30s across western parts of the Piedmont Sunday morning, and we could see our first frost advisory of the season in these areas.
Dry and mild weather is expected through at least the first half of next week.
There is a tropical disturbance east of the Lesser Antilles that has a low chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 5 days.
