Big Warm-Up Thursday and Friday

RICHMOND, Va. --- A warm front will move through the area overnight, bringing a round of showers with embedded thunderstorms to the region. The best chance of rain will be across northern Virginia, with most of the rain ending around sunrise. Thursday will be a much warmer day, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. Friday will be windy and continued warm, with highs in the mid 80s. A strong cold front will move through the area Saturday morning, bringing much cooler weather to the region over the weekend. Strong high pressure will setup over New England keeping our weather cool through the first half of next week. Several disturbances will bring a chance of rain to the area through the period.
