RICHMOND, Va. -- A Heat Advisory is in effect today for the Richmond Metro area and southeastward through 8pm. Hot and humid weather will continue today, with a few strong to severe thunderstorms possible, especially across northern Virginia and the Northern Neck.

A cold front is still on schedule to arrive Friday, bringing a much milder air mass into the region for the Labor Day weekend.

Hurricane Nana will weaken in the mountains of Belize this evening. Omar will continue to weaken well off the Atlantic coastline. More can be found in the CBS 6 Interactive Tropical Tracker.
