Sunny and dry Thursday

and last updated

RICHMOND, Va. -- An upper-level trough will swing through the area tonight, bringing us a few more showers.

High pressure will settle into the area behind this low leading to sunshine on Thursday.

Another low will move into the area Friday, with rain likely by mid to late afternoon.

A strong cold front will bring windy and chilly conditions to the area on Saturday.

Lows both Saturday and Sunday will approach freezing in parts of Virginia. Mother's Day still looks very nice, with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Highs look to remain in the 60s through the first half of next week. The extended pattern favors 80s to return to the area as early as May 15.
