RICHMOND, Va. -- A relatively quiet weather pattern is expected to remain in place this week, with seasonally cool and mostly dry conditions prevailing. Today will be partly sunny and a little milder, with highs reaching the low to mid 50s.

A push of cooler air will drop highs back into the upper 40s and low 50s Wednesday. A disturbance will move through the region Thursday, bringing only a very slight chance for a few showers.

Colder weather is expected this weekend, with highs remaining in the mid 40s under mostly sunny skies. The next good chance of rain appears to be next Monday.

Medium range models continue to hint at a pattern conducive for snow in Virginia next week. We'll continue to track the latest data and will keep you updated on the winter weather potential.
