RICHMOND, Va. -- Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop this afternoon into this evening as an upper-level trough moves through the area.

The cold front associated with this trough will pass through Virginia Saturday, bringing a few more showers to the area, followed by milder and much drier air.

Dry and pleasant weather is expected Sunday through Tuesday as strong high pressure settles into the region.

Heat will return to the area next Wednesday and Thursday, with upper 80s and low 90s possible.

A few thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday, with a better chance along the front Thursday.

Seasonably warm and humid weather is expected next weekend.
