RICHMOND, Va. -- A Heat Advisory is in effect today for the Richmond Metro area and southeastward through 8pm. Hot and humid weather will continue today, with a few strong to severe thunderstorms possible, especially across northern Virginia and the Northern Neck.

A cold front will move through the area on Friday, bringing us one more chance this week for a few showers and storms, followed by much milder air. The weekend continues to look very nice, with low to mid 80s Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies. Highs will return to the mid 80s on Labor Day, and there will be a low chance for a shower or storm in the afternoon.

Hurricane Nana will weaken in the mountains of Belize this evening. Omar will continue to weaken well off the Atlantic coastline.
