RICHMOND, Va. -- A slow-moving cold front will bring showers and a few storms to the area starting early Tuesday morning and will continue into early Wednesday. There is the potential for an inch or more of rain. The steadier rain will turn to scattered showers on Wednesday.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with few showers possible in the evening into Friday. Highs will be in the lower 70s. A shot of cooler air arriving to finish the week, Friday will bring highs in the 60s.

Friday night will be chilly with lows in the mid to upper 40s in the metro, but near 40 in outlying areas. The weekend looks dry and cool, with highs mainly in the 60s and lows in the 40s (a few readings in the 30s are possible in the normally cooler spots).
