RICHMOND, Va. -- Breezy and turning partly sunny this afternoon with highs in the mid 50s.
A cold front will move into the area Tuesday night, bringing cold and dry weather back to the region. The set up late Wednesday night into Thursday morning will be favorable for another round of significant freezing rain, and likely an ice storm in a large part of the Piedmont. Locations across northwest Virginia will receive several inches of snow before the transition to freezing rain. Some areas could see more than 1/2” of ice, leading to another wave of power outages.
Friday through the weekend should be dry and cold as high pressure settles into the region.
