Severe Weather Threat on Saturday

Damaging Winds and Tornadoes Possible

RICHMOND, Va. -- A few showers and storms will develop this evening, with a few storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts. Post-Tropical Laura will move through Virginia Saturday, bringing much of the area a threat for severe weather. The time frame for storms will be across western Virginia by 9 AM, and exiting eastern Virginia by 6 PM. The main window for severe storms in the Richmond area will be from 11 AM through 3 PM. Damaging wind gusts and tornadoes will be possible.

Sunday will be a very nice day, with low to mid 80s and lower humidity. Scattered storms are expected to return to the area Monday and Tuesday, with drier and hotter weather for the remainder of the work week.

There are two disturbances in the Atlantic, but any development will be slow occur.
