RICHMOND, Va. -- Skies will remain mostly sunny across the northwest half of Virginia today, with more cloud cover across the southeastern half. A few light showers will be possible near Hampton roads and Southeastern Virginia today. Highs will reach the low 70s in areas of full sun, with mid to upper 60s elsewhere.
Saturday and Sunday will be warm and dry, with highs in the low to mid 70s. The nice weather will continue into Monday under partly cloudy skies. We’ll have a low chance for rain during the day Tuesday, but a much better chance Tuesday night into Wednesday along a cold front. The chance of rain will continue into Thursday as models suggest the front could stall in the area.
Tropical Depression Eta is still expected to strengthen to a tropical storm over the next few days, reaching the Florida Straits early next week. It is still uncertain as to what impact the system could have on the U.S. More info is available in the CBS 6 Interactive Tropical Tracker.
