RICHMOND, Va. -- Skies will be mainly clear overnight. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s across the metro, with lower 20s in outlying areas.
Saturday will feature sunshine filtered through increasing high clouds. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s.
Sunday will turn mostly cloudy and some showers are possible, especially across southeastern VA. Highs will be in the mid 40s.
A system off the coast will cause the chance of a few showers Monday. Rain chances will be highest in southeastern VA. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.
Highs will get back into the low and mid 50s on Tuesday. A shower will be possible in the morning.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 50s.
Rain will return on Thursday, and showers are expected for Christmas Eve. Highs will be 55-60. As this system departs Thursday night into Christmas morning, the air may turn cold enough to support some snowflakes, but most of the moisture will exit before the cold air arrives. Drier weather will move in for Christmas Day. It will be colder with highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Highs will stay in the 30s to lower 40s next weekend with dry conditions expected.
