RICHMOND, Va. -- High pressure will continue to slide east of the area, bringing us persistent southwesterly winds. Friday will be a sunny and mild day, with a southwesterly wind of 10 to 20 mph. Expect a few more clouds this weekend as a cold front approaches the area.

Highs Saturday and Sunday will reach the low to mid 60s. A cold front will move through the area Sunday night into Monday, bringing us a chance for scattered showers. Tuesday will be dry and cool, with highs in the low to mid 50s.

A strong storm system will bring rain to the area next Wednesday. Medium range models differ in the timing of this system, with some favoring a rainy Thanksgiving. It still appears as though the most likely scenario will be rain on Wednesday, and ending very early Thanksgiving morning.

There are no significant tropical disturbances in the Atlantic Basin at this time. More info can be found in the CBS 6 Interactive Tropical Tracker.
