RICHMOND, Va. -- It will be clear and cold overnight. Lows will range from the upper teens to the mid 20s. Sunday will bring plenty of sunshine, although some high clouds will move in. Afternoon highs will be closer to 50.

A cold front will slide through the area Monday afternoon with a few more clouds. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s. It will be a bit colder behind the front, with highs in the low to mid 40s Tuesday and Wednesday.

The next storm to deal with will arrive on New Year's Eve. Much like Christmas Eve, temperatures will be on the rise into the 60s on Thursday. Showers will develop, with the potential for some heavy rain later Thursday into Friday morning. It will be very mild around midnight, with temperatures likely close to 60. There may be some thunder early Friday, as the next front moves through. Gusty winds are likely behind the front New Year's Day, with temperatures starting in the low 60s and dipping through the 50s during the afternoon.

Dry weather is expected next weekend, with highs near 50 Saturday and in the 40s next Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the 20s to low 30s.
