Another sunny and chilly day

RICHMOND, Va. -- Today will be mostly sunny and less breezy. High clouds will increase this afternoon and evening. Highs will range from the upper 30s to the mid 40s.

Clouds will continue to increase and thicken tonight. Lows will be 25-30° by midnight, with temps rising a little towards morning.

A system will bring showers to the area on Monday. For the metro, there is the chance of some showers by late morning, but the best chance for rain will be roughly noon to 6 p.m. This precipitation may begin in the morning as a brief mix for areas well northwest of Richmond, but that will change to rain. Heavier showers may cause some wind gusts over 30 mph. Highs will range from the lower 40s northwest to the mid 50s southeast.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with highs near 60°. Wednesday looks to be our warmest day since January 2, with highs in the mid 60s.

A cold front will pass early Thursday with just some clouds. Highs will be 55-60°.

Our computer models continue to show the chance of a storm in the area Friday into Saturday. However, the latest model run is showing a better chance for lighter precipitation, and for most of it to be rain. We will continue to watch it this week. Highs Friday will be in the 40s, and 55-60° by Sunday.
