RICHMOND, Va. -- Today will be yet another hot and humid day, with a chance for afternoon and evening storms. A few storms could be strong to severe. A weak cold front will move into Virginia on Friday, but likely will not move all the way through the Commonwealth. The mid-levels of the atmosphere will experience some minor cooling, which will result in highs only reaching the upper 80s and low 90s.

A similar pattern and temperature structure is expected on Saturday, but ridging will redevelop Sunday through Tuesday, with mid to upper 90s back in play. A stronger cold front is still on track for next Wednesday, which could keep most areas in the 80s.

Tropical Depression Seven became Tropical Storm Gonzalo today, and it's expected to become a hurricane in the next 24 to 36 hours. Another disturbance in the central Gulf has a good chance of becoming a depression, and possibly a tropical storm before making landfall along the Texas coast. The next name on the list is Hanna.
