RICHMOND, Va. -- Drier and milder air will continue to move into the region tonight behind a cold front that passed through Virginia this morning. Isolated showers will continue to be possible through mid-evening, with mostly dry conditions overnight.
Expect considerable cloud cover on Saturday, with temperatures remaining in the 70s in most areas. Sunday will be warmer, with a few isolated showers or storms possible late in the day.
A stronger cold front will move through the area early Monday, bringing us a chance for showers and storms, followed by much milder air. Expect cool nights and comfortably warm and dry afternoons Tuesday through Friday as strong high pressure remains in place over the region.
The tropics remain active, with Paulette and Rene over the central Atlantic, and a new system developing off the west coast of Africa. Another system between Florida and the Bahamas could also develop into a tropical cyclone as it moves into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. More info can be found in the CBS 6 Tropical Tracker.
