RICHMOND, Va. -- Rain will arrive overnight from southwest to northeast. Lows will be in the low 40s.

The rain will be rather steady Monday morning, becoming more showery during the afternoon. It will be another cool day, with highs in the low to mid 50s.

Much of Tuesday will be dry and we’ll get to see a little sunshine. Highs will be in the low 60s. Then the next approaching system will bring some rain during the evening and overnight into Wednesday.

The rain should taper Wednesday morning. Then the afternoon will be mainly dry, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Thursday should be a pretty nice day, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low to mid 70s.

A cold front will dip south into the area Friday with the threat for a few showers. Highs in the metro will be in the low 70s, but will range from the mid 60s north to near 80 south.

As the front drifts north on Saturday, it will be very warm with highs near 80 in many locations. A few scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm will be around during the afternoon and evening.

Somewhat cooler and drier air should return to the area next Sunday.
