RICHMOND, Va. - A woman has been arrested in connection to an incident that shut down the Lee Bridge over the James River in Richmond for hours on Monday morning.
Alexis Cosimo, 33, of the 1100 block of Eggleston Street, is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Brandishing a Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place. Her booking photo is attached.
"Officers responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle parked at the north end of Lee Bridge. Once on scene, they found a woman suffering a mental health crisis and in need of medical attention," a Richmond Police spokesperson said. "There were no injuries. She was taken a local hospital for a medical and mental evaluation."
Officers were dispatched after 2 a.m. and were forced to close Belvidere Street at Spring Street. The bridge reopened around 8:30 a.m.
