HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A gas stop in Henrico County has changed the life of one Virginia woman.

Jacquelyn Lombos was driving with a friend from her home in Woodbridge to the Hampton Roads.

The two decided to make a quick stop in Henrico for gas.

That’s when Lombos bought a Millionaire Maker scratcher from the FasMart located at 5101 Richmond Henrico Turnpike.

Two took turns scratching it as they waited for the gas tank to fill.

They soon discovered the ticket was a $1 million winner.

“He looked at it, and I looked at it,” Lombos recalled. “We asked, ‘Is this for real? Are we missing something?’”

Lombos said she plans to use her winnings to take care of her family, including paying for her daughter’s college.

The health care professional and adjunct professor had the choice of taking the full $1 million in annual payments over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $601,684 before taxes.

She chose the cash option.

Lombos won the top $1 million prize for the Millionaire Maker scratcher. The odds of winning that top prize were 1 in 244,800.
