Woman, infant boy killed in Henrico crash

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police have identified the woman killed in a double fatal crash in Henrico County on Monday evening.

Erica K. Dixon, 31, of Williamsburg, and an infant boy were killed in the crash in a two-vehicle crash on I-295.

Virginia State Police responded to the northbound lanes of I-295 at the 25-mile marker at 5:24 p.m.

"A 2008 Acura TL was traveling north on I-295 when it ran off the left side of the road, crossed the median into oncoming traffic and struck a 2013 Honda CR-V," said a state police spokesperson.

Dixon, the driver of the Acura, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt. An infant passenger was transported to VCU Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. He was in a child safety seat.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
