A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries while driving herself to get medical attention after being shot.

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries while driving herself to get medical attention after being shot in the head .

On Tuesday around 5:30 p.m., Prince George County Police responded to 11800 Moody Road for reports that a car had struck a pole in the parking lot of Fire/EMS Station 7.

Police say that the woman was suffering from a gunshot wound to her head and drove herself to the station. She was then was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police say that there is no public safety threat related to this incident.

This investigation is ongoing.
