RICHMOND, Va. -- The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, and the Children's Museum of Richmond are closing for at least two weeks in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

"Because the well-being of our visitors, staff, volunteers, and community is our top priority, the museum has now decided to close to the public for the next two weeks," a statement released by the VMFA said.

At the VMFA, all galleries, special exhibitions, and venues will be closed and all classes, programs, events, and tours are either postponed or canceled. Offices, however, will remain open.

All museums will close on Saturday March 14 and tentatively plan to reopen on March 28.
