MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. -- A pilot is uninjured after crashing a small plane during an emergency landing Thursday morning in Middlesex County.

Virginia State Police say the crash occurred at the 100 block of Willow Lane.

Their preliminary investigation reveals that the 2019 Airdrome Aeroplane, flown by 61-year-old Michael C. Kuhnert, took off from Hummel Field for a pleasure flight.

During the flight, the pilot experienced a lost of power, forcing him into a emergency landing.

During the emergency landing, Kuhnert struck a power line, causing the plane to roll over when it struck the ground.

Kuhnert, of Topping, Virginia, was uninjured.

State Police say the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
